Where one-piece speed cushions work

Speed cushions slow cars while letting buses and emergency vehicles straddle them, so they suit routes where wider vehicles still need to pass.

  • School zones and nurseries
  • Residential streets and housing developments
  • Shopping centres and car parks
  • Healthcare sites and areas with vulnerable road users
  • Ports, distribution centres and airports

Frequently asked questions

What is a one-piece speed cushion made from?

It is moulded from 100% recycled tyre rubber in the UK. The rubber is impact resistant and holds its shape under heavy traffic, so it lasts far longer than painted asphalt or concrete humps and needs very little maintenance.

Do I need to dig up the road to fit it?

No. The cushion is surface mounted, so there is no excavation. It bolts straight onto concrete, asphalt or block paving with the installation kit supplied and is usually fitted in under 30 minutes.

What is the difference between the 65mm and 75mm heights?

Both slow traffic, but the taller 75mm cushion gives a firmer speed reduction, while the 65mm suits sites that need a gentler ride. Both are 1650mm wide and 2000mm long.

Why choose a cushion rather than a full-width speed bump?

A cushion is narrower than the road, so cars are slowed while buses, ambulances and other wide-axle vehicles can straddle it. That keeps emergency and bus routes moving while still calming general traffic.

Is an installation kit included?

Yes. Every cushion is supplied with the Rosehill Roadfix kit, which fixes it to concrete, asphalt or block paving. You just need a drill and the right masonry bit to fit it.

Can it be branded or marked?

Yes. Cushions can be customised to order with moulded-in logos, speed indicators and high-visibility direction markings. Ask our team about artwork and minimum quantities.

Can it be moved later?

Yes. Because it is surface fixed rather than cast into the road, a cushion can be unbolted and relocated if the road layout changes or the surface needs resurfacing.
