GRP Stair Tread and Nosing Covers questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a stair tread cover and a nosing cover?

A tread cover sits across the full depth of the step. A nosing cover fits over the front edge only, where wear and slips happen most. Nosings are the quicker retrofit, while full treads cover the whole walking surface.

What sizes are available?

Nosing covers are stocked at 30mm by 70mm and 55mm by 55mm, and tread covers at 55mm by 345mm. COBAGrip nosings and treads are listed as well. Measure your step depth before ordering and we will confirm the fit.

How are the covers fixed to the stairs?

Covers are normally screwed down and bonded to the step. GRP adhesive and sealant are stocked alongside them, including 290ml cartridges and fixing glue. Contact us if you want the fixings supplied with the order.
