Road Traffic Signs
At Street Solutions UK we have a wide variety of Chapter 8 compliant plastic street signs available for sale to suit a variety of tasks.
Temporary road signs are generally used by construction teams and during road works or street works, they give advanced warning of any dangers or hazards that could be ahead. There are hundreds of different road signs, each has its own meaning, but generally they are split into 3 groups – circular, triangular and rectangular.
The circular road sign is used to give orders, if the sign has a red border around it, then it’s indicating a prohibition i.e., No left turn or no right turn. If the face is blue, this usually indicates positive instruction i.e., keep left or keep right.
The triangular sign with a red border is used as a warning sign for danger or hazards on the road ahead.
The rectangular signs with a blue face are used on motorways to give information, a red face is used to warn drivers of any temporary hazard and yellow is usually used to indicate a diversion and give further information if needed.
The junction ahead sign informs motor vehicles about the junction. The school crossing patrol stop below traffic signals alarm vehicles to slow down as there is a nearby school.
The ahead only sign informs the road goes straight and there is no u-turn for opposite direction.
