4mm anti-slip GRP floor sheet, black - non-slip fibreglass flooring that won't rust
The 4mm Heavy Duty Anti-Slip GRP Floor Sheet is a low-profile fibreglass sheet that adds a hard-wearing, non-slip surface to walkways, platforms, ramps and stair covers, indoors or out. Made from glass reinforced polyester with a resin-coated gritted finish, it resists water, oil, chemicals and corrosion, so it lasts where painted or bare surfaces turn slippery. Fix it by screw or adhesive straight onto concrete, metal or wood. Supplied in five sizes and cut to size on request; grey and yellow are stocked as separate listings.
Key features
-
Level 3 anti-slip surface - resin-coated grit tested to BS 7976.2, rated for heavy footfall in wet, dry, oily and greasy areas.
-
Corrosion and chemical resistant - glass reinforced polyester won't rust, rot or corrode like steel or wood, indoors or out.
-
Low 4mm profile - sits near-flush with minimal trip risk and suits wheeled and wheelchair access.
-
Screw or bond down - fixes to concrete, metal or wood; roughly 10 screws or 100ml of adhesive per square metre.
-
Non-conductive and flame retardant - fire tested to DIN 4102 Class B2; safe to use around electrical work.
-
Five sizes, cut to size - UV stable, rated -50°C to +110°C, with a design life over 10 years.
Where it is used
Non-slip flooring for access walkways, platforms, ramps, bridges and stair covers, and for wet, oily or greasy work areas. Suited to industrial sites, construction zones, schools, leisure facilities and residential access where a durable, low-profile anti-slip surface is needed. The low profile is also suitable for wheeled and wheelchair access.
How to fit
The sheet fixes directly onto concrete, metal, wood and most solid surfaces. Screw down using around 10 screws per square metre, or bond with roughly 100ml of GRP adhesive per square metre - screws and adhesive are available separately. Sheets can be cut to bespoke sizes (cutting tolerance +/- 3mm); take the usual precautions when cutting fibreglass.
Why it lasts
GRP does not rust, rot or corrode, shrugs off water, oil, chemicals and UV, and needs little upkeep - a stiff brush for everyday dirt, warm water and mild detergent, or a low-pressure wash for stubborn grime. With a design life over 10 years, the sheet is built for the long term; actual life depends on foot traffic, footwear and conditions, and periodic checks of the fixings and gritted surface are recommended.
