What is overbanding tape used for?

Overbanding tape seals joints and cracks in tarmac after reinstatement or repair work, keeping water out of the joint. It is applied over the seam and bonded down with heat.

What widths are available?

The bitumen jointing strips come in 60mm, 80mm and 120mm widths on 6m lengths, and the thermoplastic repair band is 35mm wide on 5m rolls. Pick the width to suit the joint you are sealing.

Who uses overbanding tape?

Highways contractors, utility gangs and surfacing teams use it on reinstatements, patch repairs and trench edges. Car park and estate maintenance teams also use it to seal cracks before they open up further.
