Fire Retardant Base Layers questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What does fire retardant clothing protect against?

Fire retardant workwear is designed to resist ignition, self-extinguish once a flame source is removed, and not melt onto the wearer's skin — reducing burn injury severity in fire and heat incidents.

What standard does fire retardant clothing need to meet?

In the UK, fire retardant workwear should comply with EN ISO 11612 for protection against heat and flame. Our FR clothing range carries the appropriate certifications for its intended application.

Can fire retardant clothing be washed?

Yes — our FR garments maintain their protective properties through repeated industrial washing when laundered in accordance with the care label instructions. The flame-resistant treatment is inherent to the fabric.
