Arc flash clothing is specialist workwear designed to protect wearers from the intense heat, pressure wave, and light generated by an electrical arc flash incident. It must be certified to IEC 61482-2.

What is the difference between Class 1 and Class 2 ARC flash? +

IEC 61482-2 Class 1 provides protection at 4 kA for 0.5 seconds, whilst Class 2 provides higher protection at 7 kA for 0.5 seconds. The class required depends on your arc flash risk assessment.

Does FR & ARC flash clothing also protect against fire? +

Yes — our FR & ARC flash garments are also certified to EN ISO 11612, which covers protection against heat and flame, making them suitable for environments with both arc flash and fire risks.
