Is the S488 flame resistant as well as waterproof?

No. This bib and brace is waterproof and hi-vis rated but carries no flame-resistant or thermal certification (the fabric is rated Not Thermal Rated). If you need FR protection, look at our Portwest FR range instead.

How waterproof is it in practice?

The fabric is EN 343 Class 4 rated, the highest water-resistance class in that standard, equivalent to withstanding 30,000mm of water pressure. Seams are taped to stop water getting in at the stitching.

Does the reflective tape and hi-vis rating survive washing?

Yes. Portwest tests the S488 to EN ISO 20471 Class 2 after 50 industrial washes, so the visibility rating holds up over the garment's working life.

What's the largest size available?

Sizes run from XS to 5XL, though the largest size varies by colour - Yellow/Navy and Yellow/Black go up to 5XL, Orange/Navy is available up to 4XL.
