The concrete-in (ragged) version has a foot that is set into a socket in the ground, while the bolt-down (flanged) version sits on the surface and is fixed with 3 x M12 expanding bolts, which are sold separately.

The main body is galvanised mild steel tube. The cap and rings are genuine malleable cast iron, welded on for the traditional look and added impact resistance.
