A two-wheeled applicator is a barrow: it only stands up because you are holding it. On a short run that is fine. On a hundred metres of warehouse aisle, or on tarmac that has been patched a few times, every correction you make to keep it upright ends up in the paint. Bolting this on turns the frame into a four-wheeled trolley that sits on the ground by itself, so the only thing you are steering is direction.
