Frequently asked questions

Does the wall thickness change with diameter?

Yes. The 60mm-127mm and 152mm diameters have a 3mm wall; the 139mm and 168mm-193mm diameters step up to 5mm for the extra strength a wider post needs.

Can I order several bollards so one key fits them all?

Yes. Select the 40mm brass padlock with identical key option on each unit and one key will operate every bollard in the set - useful when fitting more than one across a site.

What's included with the bollard?

The removable post, its ground socket and the hinged locking flap. A 40mm brass padlock is available as an option at checkout if you need one.

Is a custom RAL colour a different product?

No - it's the same galvanised mild steel post and socket. Specifying a RAL code simply adds a powder-coated finish over the standard galvanised construction.

How deep do I need to dig for the ground socket?

220mm below ground for the 60mm-90mm diameters, or 300mm below ground for the 101mm-193mm diameters. The socket is fixed permanently once installed; only the post lifts in and out.

Does SSUK sell a fixed (non-removable) version of this bollard?
