Frequently asked questions

What does the 612 sign mean?

Diagram 612 prohibits turning right at the junction ahead. It shows a black right-turn arrow crossed by a red diagonal bar inside a red circle.

How is this different from a No Entry sign?

A No Entry sign blocks a whole road; this sign specifically prohibits the right turn at a junction and is used where No Entry alone would not be clearly visible to approaching drivers.

Can it be used with extra instructions, like a give-way requirement?

Yes. The sign is often supplemented with a plate covering give-way requirements, time periods when the turn is banned, or exceptions for vehicles such as buses.

Is it suitable for a public highway?

Yes. The sign is manufactured to BS EN 12899-1:2007 and CE marked, meeting the standard required for permanent signs on public highways, with Class 2 R2/RA2 reflectivity.

What is the difference between the post mounted and wall mounted options?

Post mounted faces have rear channels that clamp to the post with anti-rotational clips, two per sign, so the face cannot twist. Wall mounted faces come with no holes and can be drilled for screws or bonded with a no-nails adhesive.

Which size should I choose?

Sizes run from 300mm up to 750mm. The right size depends on the road type and where the sign is positioned - check the TSRGD guidance for your location or ask our team.

How long does this take to arrive?

These sign faces are made to order and dispatched in 7-10 working days.
