Frequently asked questions

How many top hoppers does a chute run need?
Just one - it goes at the very top of the run as the single waste entry point. If you need a second access point further down, that's what the side entry hopper is for.

Why is the top diameter wider than the bottom?
The slight taper guides waste smoothly into the connected chute section below and helps each joint fit snugly, cutting down on dust escaping at the seams.

Will it work with 30" chute sections bought elsewhere?
Yes, it's designed to fit most European chute systems, not just the SSUK range, so it will generally connect to other 30" scaffold chute sections too.

Is extra fixing needed on a long scaffold run?
For every 10 metres of chutes in use, we'd recommend adding an extra fixing frame to keep the run secure. The Universal Rubbish Chute Fixing Frame is available separately.

What's it made from and how tough is it?
One-piece moulded Medium Density Polyethylene, chosen for its resistance to impact, abrasion and weathering across a full site contract.

Can I get it in a colour other than black?
Black is the standard finish. Custom colours can be made to order, subject to a minimum order quantity.

Does it stack for storage between jobs?
Yes, the stackable design nests for compact storage in the yard or during transport.
