Green 750mm 2-piece traffic cone, Kitemarked for public roads
The Green Traffic Cone - 750mm 2-Piece is part of the Melba Swintex Starlite range, made in the UK. It is built in two parts: a blow-moulded HDPE cone body in green, sitting on a separately moulded, weighted base of fully recycled PVC in black. Most of the weight is packed into the base, giving a low centre of gravity that keeps the cone upright in wind. It carries a high-performance Starlux reflective sleeve for visibility day and night, is Kitemarked and Chapter 8 compliant, and arrives ready to use with no assembly needed.
Please note: "2-piece" describes how the cone is made - a cone body and a separately weighted base - which gives extra stability over a single-piece cone. Green cones are typically used to mark the entrance and exit points of a works site.
Key features
-
High-visibility reflective sleeve - fitted with a high-performance Starlux D2 prismatic sleeve to R1B grade, glued from the factory for reflectivity in the dark and in poor weather.
-
Chapter 8 compliant and Kitemarked - conforms to BS EN 13422:2019, Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual, The Red Book 2013 and the TSRGD.
-
Weighted 2-piece base - a separately moulded, weighted PVC base gives a low centre of gravity and strong wind resistance on exposed sites.
-
Easy-grip carry handle - a moulded top handle makes the cone easy to lift, stack and rig with cone chains, rope or tape.
-
Recycled PVC base - the base is moulded from fully recycled PVC, and the cone is recyclable at the end of its life.
-
Made in the UK - manufactured in the UK to the same standards as the rest of the Melba Swintex cone range.
-
Stackable - cones stack for easy transport and space-saving storage.
Where it is used
The 750mm cone suits any job that needs a tall, clearly visible marker: road works and traffic management, construction and utilities sites, car parks and access control, schools, colleges and universities, festivals and sporting events, and retail and leisure. Green cones in particular are used on public highways to mark out site entrance and exit points.
What does "2-piece" mean?
It refers to how the cone is made. The green cone body is blow-moulded from HDPE and fitted onto a separately moulded, weighted base of recycled PVC. Keeping the two parts separate lets most of the weight sit in the base, which improves stability. The cone arrives complete as pictured and needs no assembly. If you want a lighter, lower-cost option, the single-piece 750mm cone is the value alternative.
Reflective sleeve and compliance
The cone is fitted with a Starlux D2 prismatic sleeve to R1B standard, glued on at the factory for excellent reflectivity in all weathers. It is one of the few cones to carry the Kitemark, and conforms to BS EN 13422:2019, Chapter 8, The Red Book 2013 and the TSRGD, making it suitable for public road and private applications.
Handling and storage
At around 4kg the cone is a comfortable single-person lift, and the moulded top handle makes it easy to carry several at once or to rig cone chains and tape. Cones stack for transport and can be stored several high to save space between jobs. We recommend a maximum of 250 cones to a single pallet for transport.
