Frequently asked questions

Do you need Chapter 8 barriers?

On a public highway or live road works, barriers are legally required to be Chapter 8 compliant, including the reflective strip supplied with this one. On private land Chapter 8 is not required - if you only need to manage pedestrians there, crowd control barriers may suit.

What feet options are available?

Three: Standard for maximum stability, Anti-Trip for a low-profile foot that reduces trip risk in pedestrian areas, and Anti-Trip Razorback which adds a grip ridge. All fit the same barrier.

Where is the Chapter 8 Gate Barrier used?

Highways and traffic management, street and road works, utilities works, pedestrian direction, and events and crowd control. Barriers link together for a continuous run, guiding people and vehicles safely past the works.

How much does the barrier weigh?

8.9kg with anti-trip feet or 10.3kg with standard feet - a genuine one-person lift, so it is quick to set out and collect.

Can the barriers be linked together?

Yes. The 360 degree swivel feet connect one barrier to the next in seconds, with no screws or rivets, and hold firm on uneven ground.

What size is the Chapter 8 Gate Barrier?

It is 2000mm (2m) wide and 1000mm (1m) high, with a 600 x 450mm facility for warning or information signage.

Can I add my own branding?

Yes. Barriers can be customised to order - vinyl branding from 10 barriers, embossing from 120, and colour changes from 200. Ask about trade-account pricing for bulk and framework orders.
