Frequently asked questions

What does the 613 sign mean?

Diagram 613 prohibits vehicles from turning left at a junction. It is not normally needed if the turn is already covered by a "No Entry" sign, but is used alongside one where visibility of that sign is limited from the approach.

Is there an equivalent sign for right turns?

Yes. Diagram 612 covers the equivalent right-turn prohibition. Use whichever matches the direction you need to restrict, or both together at a junction where neither turn is allowed.

Does this listing include the mounting post?

No, this is the sign face only. Wall mounted faces fix directly to a wall or structure; post mounted faces need a 76mm post and anti-rotational clips, both sold separately.

What's the difference between the wall mounted and post mounted versions?

The wall mounted face has no pre-drilled holes, ready for screw fixing or a no-nails adhesive. The post mounted face is supplied with rear channels that clamp onto anti-rotational post clips, so the sign stays fixed once installed.

What size do I need?

300mm and 450mm suit lower-speed junctions and car parks; 600mm and 750mm give better visibility on faster roads or where the sign needs to be seen from further away.

Can supplementary plates be added below this sign?

Yes, in principle. Exceptions for buses and cycles, a "give way to oncoming vehicles" instruction, or time-period restrictions are all commonly added as a plate beneath a 613 sign. Plates are ordered separately to match your specific wording.
