Frequently asked questions

What does the arrow on this sign show?

It points straight down, confirming the fire hose reel is fitted directly below the sign.

What sizes does it come in?

300mm x 100mm or 450mm x 150mm - the larger size for sight lines from further down a corridor or warehouse aisle.

Which material should I choose?

Self-adhesive vinyl suits a smooth indoor surface, rigid or foam PVC gives a lightweight rigid panel, photoluminescent PVC stays visible in a power cut, and vinyl composite is the fully waterproof, channel-mountable option.

Can I mount this on a post or barrier rather than a wall?

Only the vinyl composite version comes with channel fixings, for horizontal or vertical posts and bars - the other four materials are self-adhesive or drill-fix for flat surfaces.

Does the photoluminescent version need charging?

No - it absorbs ambient light during normal use and stays visible if the power cuts out, with no wiring or batteries needed.

Is this sign suitable for outdoor fixing?

Rigid PVC, foam PVC and vinyl composite are all suited to exterior use; self-adhesive vinyl is best kept indoors on a smooth, protected surface.

Can I pair this with a fire hose reel instruction sign?

Yes - a directional arrow sign and an instruction sign are commonly fitted together, one pointing to the reel and the other explaining how to use it.
