Frequently asked questions

Should I choose the 50mm or 90mm width?

This listing is the 50mm profile, which suits most decking boards and walkway surfaces. A 90mm wide version is available where you want more grip coverage per strip. Both are 3mm thick.

How do I fix the strips down?

Screw them down with 5 fixings per linear metre - strips can be supplied pre-drilled - or bond them with roughly 60ml of adhesive per metre. They fix directly to wood, metal and concrete, and R2 CSK cutter screws and GRP sealant and adhesive are available alongside this product.

Do they still grip when wet or oily?

Yes. Pendulum testing to BS 7976-2 gives a coefficient of friction of 73 in the dry, 60 in the wet and 45 in oil, and the surface is rated for wet, oily and greasy areas.

Can I cut them to size myself?

Yes, minor adjustments can be made with a hacksaw or jigsaw, with a cutting tolerance of +/- 3mm. Wear protective gear and ventilate the area when cutting, or use our in-house cutting service for bespoke sizes.

How long do they last and how do I clean them?

The design life is 10+ years. A stiff brush removes everyday dirt, warm water and mild detergent handles tougher marks, and a low-pressure wash is fine with care around the fixings. Check fixings periodically in high-traffic areas.

Are they safe near electrical equipment or heat?

Yes. GRP is electrically non-conductive, including HV environments, flame retardant tested to EN ISO 9239-1:2010, and stable from -50C to +110C.

What colours and lengths are available?

Black, yellow and beige as standard, in 750mm, 1000mm, 1500mm, 2000mm and 3000mm lengths. Custom colours may be available on request - contact us to discuss.
