EN ISO 20471 Class 2 is the higher of the two common trouser ratings, giving more reflective and background material than Class 1 - the level typically specified for roadside, highways and rail environments. It is certified to hold up after 50 washes.

Will the Texpel finish keep me dry in the rain?

It resists light rain and stains, but the trousers are not rated waterproof to EN 343. For sustained wet weather, wear them with a waterproof overtrouser.

Do the knees take knee pad inserts?

Yes. The knee panels have bottom-loading pockets sized for knee pad inserts, sold separately.

How much can I carry in the pockets?

Nine pockets in total, including bottom-loading knee pad pockets, a dedicated phone pocket, a D-ring for keys or ID, a pen division and a double rule pocket.

What colour should I choose for rail trackside work?

Pick the orange colourway - it is the one that meets RIS 3279-TOM for rail industry use. Yellow/Navy is EN ISO 20471 Class 2 rated but is not RIS 3279-TOM listed.
