Do I need Chapter 8 Road barriers?
If you are planning on using your road safety barriers on public highways or live road works then you are legally required to make sure that the pedestrian barriers are chapter 8 compliant
Having several safety feature requirements to be a chapter 8 barrier, the main one is that the barriers must have a reflective strip as shown and supplied with our road barriers
When do I not need Chapter 8 Road barriers?

If that is the case and you only require pedestrian barriers you may be interested in crowd control barriers

EASE OF USE
The Premium Chapter 8 road barrier from Melba Swintex is a market leader in the barriers space, a lightweight design that enables a one-man lift due to its HDPE blow moulded construction
The ultra-strong design with its kiss through reinforcements makes for a durable safety barrier that is perfectly suited to all construction, highway and event sites
Connecting the pedestrian barriers together is a simple process thanks to the clever S-Clip, road barriers can be linked up in linear rows whilst creating full 90° corners
EXTRA STABILITY
If you’re planning on using the Premium Chapter 8 Road Barriers in areas with high wind speeds, you may want to consider either the Tuff Foot or the Anti-Tuff Foot. for additional barrier stability
Manufactured by Melba Swintex both feet designs are double the size of the standard barrier feet, meaning twice the weight with the added stability of a larger footprint- this creates a lower centre of gravity for the road barrier and greater wind resistance.
The Anti-Tuff option features one side that is shorter than the other to promote pedestrian and worker safety, without the risk of tripping over a protruding foot
STACKABLE & TRANSPORTABLE
The Premium Chapter 8 Road Barriers benefit from a handy foot design that allows a full 360° swivel rotation, ensuring that the road barriers can be laid flat which is perfect for stacking on top of one another
To make sure the safety barriers are safe and secure when being stacked they feature interlocking stacking lugs
With this the barriers can be stacked 40 units in height on an oversized pallet and even higher if they are being stored between uses
