The Surface Mounted Flow Plates are engineered to efficiently and safely control traffic flow in a single direction, ensuring the orderly movement of vehicles

Designed to work in groups, these plates provide complete lane width coverage, making them an essential addition to any traffic management system

Constructed from heavy-duty steel and galvanised for enhanced durability and longevity, each flow plate is coated in bright yellow to maximise visibility, ensuring that drivers can easily see and navigate the flow plates

The operation of the flow plates is straightforward yet highly effective; as a vehicle drives over the plate, the flap is pushed down, allowing the vehicle to pass

Once the vehicle has cleared the plate, the flap returns to its upright position, ready to manage the next vehicle - This simple mechanism ensures a smooth and controlled flow of traffic in the desired direction

For installation, it is crucial to position the plates so that vehicles approach head-on rather than at an angle - a three metre wide road would typically require 6 One Way Flow Plates

The recommended minimum vehicle clearance is 150mm, and a maximum speed of 5mph is advised when driving over the plates - suitable road signs should be erected to inform drivers of the flow plates and to enforce a slow speed limit

It is important to note that these Ground Submerged Flow Plates are not recommended for use with vehicles exceeding one tonne per axle or Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs).

We recommend a staggered installation layout rather than a straight line. Staggering the plates distributes vehicle loading more effectively, reducing wear and tear, especially for heavier vehicles. Proper layout helps maintain performance and extends the lifespan of your plates. To maximise the life of your Flow Plates, vehicles should drive over the product in a straight line as demonstrated in diagram above. Vehicles turning on the Flow Plates can cause excessive discomfort to the passengers and will also damage the Flow Plates, springs, fixings and can affect the position on the surface.

For safety reasons we recommend using speed ramps placed before the flow plates - To purchase suitable & recommended speed ramps please click HERE
