What does the Fire Brigade padlock option actually do?

It replaces the standard padlock with an FB14 (yellow) or FB1 (grey) padlock and key, both recognised by UK fire services, so a crew can remove the hinge pin and lower the post without needing your key.

Do I need to buy a padlock separately?

Yes. The post is supplied without a padlock as standard - choose No Padlock Required if you already have one, or add the FB14 or FB1 option at checkout.

What's the difference between galvanised and stainless steel?

Galvanised is the standard finish and suits most sites. The 304 stainless steel option costs more but resists corrosion better in coastal or heavily salted areas.

Can I get it in a specific colour?

Yes. Choose the powder-coated option and enter the RAL code you need in the notes field - black and yellow are also available as standard powder-coated finishes.

How is the post fixed down?

It bolts to a prepared base using 2 x M16 bolts through the cast SG iron base plate. Choose the fixing option with or without bolts included.

Will it fit an existing base plate from another parking post?

The base plate dimensions are 200mm x 90mm x 81mm - check this against your existing fixing before ordering, as base plates vary between manufacturers.

Can one person operate it?

Yes. Once unlocked, the post pivots down flat on its hinge and back up again by hand - no tools needed beyond the padlock key.
