Frequently asked questions

What does the 12 cal/cm² arc flash rating mean?

It is the amount of heat energy the glove is tested to withstand in an arc flash event before failure - 12 cal/cm² is a strong figure for an 18-gauge glove, giving cover for most Category 2 tasks.

Is the A784 cut-resistant as well as arc-rated?

Yes. It carries an EN 388: 2016 + A1:2018 rating of 3X43C, covering abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance alongside the arc protection.

Can this glove be embroidered or logo-printed?

No - the A784 is not available with embroidery or logo printing, unlike some of our other Portwest glove ranges.

What sizes does the A784 come in?

Six sizes, S through to XXXL, all in the same Green/Black colourway and at the same price.

Does the coating affect grip when handling tools?

The flame-resistant neoprene coating on the palm is designed to stay tacky and grippy even in oily or damp conditions, so tool handling is not compromised.

How quickly will my order arrive?

Dispatch is 1-2 working days across all sizes.

Is the A784 suitable for cold-weather work?

It is built around arc and cut protection rather than insulation, so for cold-weather work we would point you towards a dedicated thermal glove instead.
