Frequently asked questions

When is the ramp ahead sign used?

Mostly during resurfacing. It warns drivers that the road level changes ahead, where the surface has been planed off and a ramp leads down to the lower level. Signs normally go at both ends of the section, facing each direction.

Is this the same as the Ramp sign?

No - this is the advance warning, diagram 7010.1. The Ramp sign (diagram 7013) marks the ramp itself, and the two are usually used together on a scheme.

What frames does it need?

Quick-fit frames, sold separately. The face is drilled at 300mm hole centres, so match it to frames with the same toggle centres.

Is it suitable for high-speed roads?

The face is Class 1 (RA1), intended for lower-speed roads - urban streets, residential areas, city centres and local roads.

Why does it have no scrap value?

The backing is 3mm plastic - non-metallic, so there is nothing on it worth stealing from site.

Can you supply a different size or backing?

Yes - GRP, composite, aluminium or plastic backings, with 300mm, 450mm, 750mm or 900mm hole centres. Email sales@streetsolutionsuk.com.

How soon will it ship?

Orders are dispatched within 3-5 working days.
