Why it works
Clear wording, five materials to choose from
Reads clearly at a distance
Bold green and white wording is legible from across a room or corridor without needing a pictogram.
Multiple fixing options
Choose self-adhesive, drill-hole, or (200mm Vinyl Composite) horizontal/vertical channel fixing to suit the mounting surface.
Marks emergency-only access
The wording tells occupants this exit is for emergency use, not everyday access, supporting controlled building security.
Photoluminescent option
Charges under ambient light and stays visible if the power fails, suited to directional escape signage.
Interior and exterior use
Foam PVC and vinyl composite options are durable enough for exterior use as well as interior fitting.

Frequently asked questions
Why doesn't this sign have a pictogram like other exit signs?
Why doesn't this sign have a pictogram like other exit signs?
This is a wording-only safe condition sign - it uses "Exit for emergency use only" text rather than the running-man pictogram used on standard fire exit signs, making clear the door is for emergencies rather than routine access.
What size should I choose?
What size should I choose?
100mm x 100mm suits a door viewed close up, such as inside a room or narrow corridor. 200mm x 200mm is easier to read from further away, for example across a larger space or a fire escape stairwell.
How is the sign fixed in place?
How is the sign fixed in place?
Self-adhesive vinyl fixes with a hi-tack backing. Rigid PVC, foam PVC, photoluminescent PVC and vinyl composite fix with 4 x 5mm drill holes. The 200mm vinyl composite version is also available with a horizontal or vertical channel for mounting on a post or bar.
Does the sign glow in the dark?
Does the sign glow in the dark?
Only the photoluminescent PVC option does. It absorbs ambient light during the day and releases a visible glow if the power fails, so the wording stays readable in the dark.
Can this sign be fitted outdoors?
Can this sign be fitted outdoors?
Rigid PVC, foam PVC and vinyl composite are all suitable for exterior use as well as indoors. Self-adhesive vinyl also copes outdoors once it's fixed to a smooth, non-porous surface.
Is this sign suitable for fire doors that should stay closed?
Is this sign suitable for fire doors that should stay closed?
Yes - "exit for emergency use only" is the standard wording for a door that must remain closed in normal use but needs to be clearly marked as an escape route.
Which material lasts longest?
Which material lasts longest?
Vinyl composite is the most durable option for daily wear and outdoor exposure. Rigid and foam PVC are lighter, lower-cost alternatives for indoor or sheltered locations.
