Why it works
Clear pictogram and wording, five materials to choose from
Pictogram plus wording
Combines the running-man exit symbol with plain "Fire exit / Keep clear" text so the message is understood at a glance and read in full.
Multiple fixing options
Choose self-adhesive, drill-hole, or (Vinyl Composite) horizontal/vertical channel fixing to suit the mounting surface.
Keeps exit routes unobstructed
The wording is a direct instruction to keep the route clear, supporting fire safety compliance and fast evacuation.
Photoluminescent option
Charges under ambient light and stays visible if the power fails, suited to directional escape signage.
Interior and exterior use
Foam PVC and vinyl composite options are durable enough for exterior use as well as interior fitting.

Frequently asked questions
Does this sign combine a pictogram with wording, or is it text-only?
Does this sign combine a pictogram with wording, or is it text-only?
This is a combined sign - the standard green running-man exit pictogram is printed above "Fire exit / Keep clear" wording, giving both a visual symbol and a written instruction.
What does the 'Keep clear' wording mean if there's already an exit pictogram?
What does the 'Keep clear' wording mean if there's already an exit pictogram?
The pictogram shows the direction of a fire exit; the 'Keep clear' wording is a specific instruction not to obstruct that route with furniture, stock or parked items, so the two work together rather than repeating the same message.
Which size do I need for a fire door versus a stairwell?
Which size do I need for a fire door versus a stairwell?
150mm x 200mm suits a door viewed close up, such as inside a corridor. 300mm x 400mm is easier to read from further away, for example across a warehouse floor or down a long stairwell. 200mm x 300mm sits in between for most standard doorways.
How is the sign fixed in place?
How is the sign fixed in place?
Self-adhesive vinyl fixes with a hi-tack backing. Rigid PVC, foam PVC, photoluminescent PVC and vinyl composite fix with 4 x 5mm drill holes. The vinyl composite version is also available with a horizontal or vertical channel for mounting on a post or bar.
Will the sign still be visible if the lights go out?
Will the sign still be visible if the lights go out?
Only the photoluminescent PVC option is designed for that. It absorbs ambient light during normal operation and gives off a visible glow if the power fails, keeping the exit route identifiable in the dark.
Can this sign go outside as well as inside a building?
Can this sign go outside as well as inside a building?
Rigid PVC, foam PVC and vinyl composite are all rated for exterior use as well as indoors. Self-adhesive vinyl also copes outdoors once fixed to a smooth, non-porous surface.
What's the difference between this sign and a plain 'Fire Exit' sign?
What's the difference between this sign and a plain 'Fire Exit' sign?
A plain 'Fire Exit' sign identifies the route out. This version adds 'Keep clear' wording, making it suitable for locations where the space in front of or around the exit is at risk of being blocked, such as loading bays, corridors used for storage, or car park routes.
