How do you remove the bollard when you need vehicle access?
Open the padlock if one is fitted, lift the post clear of the ground socket, then close the hinged flap over the socket. Drop the post back in and lock it again when the site needs to be secured.

It comes down to visual presence and impact resistance. The 101mm and larger diameters use a thicker 5mm wall for extra strength, while the 60mm to 127mm and 152mm options use a 3mm wall for lighter-duty sites.

The socket goes into a hole 220mm deep for the 60mm to 90mm diameters, or 300mm deep for the 101mm to 193mm diameters. Once the socket is set in, the post lifts in and out without disturbing it again.
