Nothing to chip and corrode

The bracket for a room that gets washed down

A powder-coated bracket is fine until a shelf edge or a trolley takes a chip out of it, and in a kitchen or a washdown area that chip is where the corrosion starts. The stainless bracket removes the coating altogether. It costs several times what the painted versions do, so it is worth specifying only where the room justifies it - kitchens, wet rooms, labs, damp and coastal stores. Five lengths from 220mm to 470mm, each with a published load figure.

Frequently asked questions

How much will one bracket hold?

It depends on the length: 220mm takes 70kg, 270mm takes 60kg, 320mm takes 56kg, 370mm takes 48kg, 470mm takes 64kg.

Will these fit any twin slot upright?

They are made for the twin slot system, so they fit our uprights in every finish. If you are matching an existing installation from another supplier, check the slot pitch before ordering.

Are they sold singly or in pairs?

Singly. A shelf normally needs a bracket at each upright, so most bays work out at two or three per shelf depending on the shelf length.

What are they made from?

Grade 202 steel at 1.5mm thickness.

Is the anti-microbial coating on this one?

No. The Dupont Alesta AM powder coat is on the painted brackets. This one has a bare stainless finish with no coating on it at all, which is the point of specifying it.

Why is it so much more than the painted brackets?

Because of the finish. In a dry stockroom that premium buys you nothing, so use white, silver or brown there. In a kitchen, wet room or coastal store it is the difference between a bracket that lasts and one that corrodes from the first chip.
