How the signs are made and fixed

The floor signs are printed on slip-resistant vinyl with a self-adhesive backing, so they go straight down onto a clean, dry floor with no fixings and no tools. The print sits under the film rather than on top of it, so it is protected from scuffing by foot and forklift traffic.

Choosing the message

The range splits into four jobs:

  • Mandatory PPE: safety helmets, protective footwear, eye protection, ear protection and high-visibility vests must be worn. These go at the door into the area the rule applies to, not in the middle of it.
  • Keeping people and vehicles apart: forklift truck area, fork lift trucks operating in this area, pedestrian route, no pedestrians, no pedestrian access, pedestrian traffic, keep aisles clear, keep clear, no parking, no entry and directional arrows. Yellow self-adhesive floor markers mark out the walkway or bay those signs refer to.
  • Hazard warnings: electrical danger, floor slippery when wet, watch your step, no naked lights, no smoking, and the black triangle with an exclamation mark for a general hazard.
  • Restrictions: authorised personnel only, and no food or drink.

Marking EV bays

Three products cover electric vehicle bays. The EV charging point symbol stencil is for marking the symbol yourself and can be used again on further bays. The thermoplastic EV parking place symbol and the thermoplastic EV charging point symbol are ready-made symbols for an external surface.

Preparation and edges

Two accessories go with the markings. Primer for bitumen, in 4 litre tins, prepares a bitumen surface before a marking is laid on it. Edge Fix edge sealant seals the edge of adhesive tape and markings so the edge does not catch and lift.

Are these floor signs anti-slip? +

Yes. The signs are printed on slip-resistant vinyl, and the design is printed under the film so foot traffic and cleaning do not scuff it away. They suit smooth, clean, sealed floors.

How are floor signs fixed down? +

Each sign has a permanent self-adhesive backing. Clean and dry the floor first, then press the sign down from the centre outwards so no air is trapped underneath.

Where are floor signs normally used? +

Warehouse and factory floors, distribution centres, construction sites and retail floors, marking walkways, forklift areas and PPE requirements where a wall sign would be missed.
