Frequently asked questions

Do I need to seal or paint the sheet?

No. The gritted anti-slip surface is finished and ready to walk on. GRP does not rust or rot, so there is no coating to maintain - just clean it with a stiff brush or a low-pressure wash.

How is the sheet fixed down?

Screw it down using around 10 screws per square metre, or bond it with roughly 100ml of GRP adhesive per square metre. It fixes onto concrete, metal, wood and most solid surfaces. Screws and adhesive are available separately.

Can it be cut to size?

Yes. Sheets can be supplied cut to your dimensions, with a cutting tolerance of +/- 3mm. If you cut it yourself, take the usual precautions for working with fibreglass.

What sizes does it come in?

Five panel sizes: 800 x 1220mm, 1220 x 1220mm, 1220 x 1500mm, 1220 x 2440mm and 1220 x 3000mm, all 4mm thick. Grey and yellow are listed separately.

Is it suitable for wheelchair and wheeled access?

Yes. The low 4mm profile sits near-flush with the surrounding floor, keeping the trip risk low and suiting wheeled trolleys and wheelchair access.

How slip resistant is it?

It carries a Level 3 anti-slip rating, tested to BS 7976.2, and holds grip in wet, dry, oily and greasy conditions, so it suits heavy footfall areas.

Can it be used outdoors?

Yes. It is UV stable, rated from -50 to +110C and unaffected by water, oil or chemicals, so it works indoors and out with a design life of over 10 years.
