Frequently asked questions

What do the two size numbers mean?

Each size is given as upright x arm length in mm - for example the 200 x 150mm bracket has a 200mm wall plate and a 150mm arm supporting the shelf. Pick the pair closest to your shelf depth.

How many brackets does a shelf need?

Two brackets are enough for most standard shelves. For anything wider than about a metre, or carrying heavier items, use three spaced evenly along the shelf.

What are the brackets made from?

Powder-coated steel. The coating gives a smooth white finish and helps resist marking and corrosion in normal indoor conditions.

Do the brackets include screws or wall plugs?

Each arm has pre-drilled, countersunk holes so you can fit your own screws and wall plugs matched to the wall type - add our Plug & Screw Kit if you need a set.

What's the difference between this and a mitred shelf bracket?

This bracket uses a curved support arm rather than a straight diagonal brace, which spreads the load across a wider section of the corner joint. Fixing and sizing work the same way as our mitred range.

Is this bracket available in another colour?

This range is supplied in white only. If you'd like a different look, our White Mitred or Black Mitred brackets use a similar fixing pattern in a different style or colour.

What load can each bracket take?

We don't publish a fixed load rating - actual capacity depends on your wall type, fixings and how evenly weight is spread across the shelf. Choose the larger sizes for heavier items and always fix into a sound wall.
