Why it works
What it is for
Gloss finish
An acrylic gloss that goes on evenly from the can rather than needing a gun and a compressor.
Sticks to more than steel
Wood, MDF, ceramic and paint-prepared plastics as well as metalwork, so one can covers most of what a workshop touches up.
Matched to RAL 7004
Signal grey, so a touch-up matches a specified finish rather than being close enough.
Indoor and outdoor
Rated for exterior use, so gates, railings and vehicle work are all in scope.
Overview
Signal grey for plant and machinery
There are two greys in this range and they are not interchangeable. RAL 7004 signal grey is a mid grey, the colour of a lot of machinery housings, control cabinets and enclosures. RAL 7016 anthracite is a much darker grey used on exterior metalwork. Ordering the wrong one is the most common mistake on this page, so check the RAL on the item you are matching before you order rather than going by the word grey.

Frequently asked questions
What surfaces will it go on?
What surfaces will it go on?
Metal, wood, MDF, ceramic and paint-prepared plastics. Whatever the surface, it needs to be clean, dry and free of loose material first, and bare steel should be primed.
Can it be used outside?
Can it be used outside?
Yes, it is rated for interior and exterior use. Spray in dry conditions and give it time to dry before it takes any weather.
How much will one can cover?
How much will one can cover?
That depends on the colour, the surface and how heavily you spray. Porous surfaces such as bare MDF drink far more than primed steel. For a job of any size, buy a can more than you think you need rather than running out part way.
How big is the can?
How big is the can?
500ml, 65mm across and 240mm tall, at 0.4kg.
What is the difference between this and the anthracite grey?
What is the difference between this and the anthracite grey?
A lot. RAL 7004 signal grey is a mid grey used on plant, machinery and cabinets. RAL 7016 anthracite is a much darker grey used on exterior metalwork. They will not pass for each other, so match the RAL rather than the word.
