Why it works
Why an additive rather than ready-mixed
Grip in any colour
Ready-mixed anti slip comes in four colours. Mixing grit into standard floor paint gets you the same grip in whichever colour the scheme calls for.
You control the loading
More grit for a wet ramp, less for an area that also has to be cleaned. A ready-mixed product decides that for you.
Works wet
The texture is what gives grip when a floor is wet, which is when a smooth coating is at its most dangerous.
Covers a real area
At the 300g per square metre minimum, a 10kg tub treats a meaningful stretch of ramp or walkway.
Overview
Grip in any colour you like
Ready-mixed anti slip floor paint comes in four colours. If the area that needs grip happens to be blue, green or black, or if it needs to match a scheme already down, the additive is the answer: mix it into the colour you actually want and you get the same textured surface. It also gives you control over how coarse the finish is, which the ready-mixed version does not - useful where a floor needs grip but also has to be cleanable.

Frequently asked questions
How much do I need?
How much do I need?
The stated minimum is 300g per square metre. Below that the grit is spread too thinly to give consistent grip and you get patches of texture rather than a surface. Work out your floor area first, then the paint, then the grit.
What paint can I mix it with?
What paint can I mix it with?
It is made to be used with floor paint. If you are planning to add it to something other than the floor paints in this range, tell us what and we will check it is a sensible combination before you buy.
Why not just buy ready-mixed anti slip paint?
Why not just buy ready-mixed anti slip paint?
If your colour is grey, red, yellow or white, that is usually simpler. The additive earns its place when you need grip in a colour that is not stocked ready-mixed, when you are matching an existing scheme, or when you want to control how coarse the finish is.
Does it change the colour of the paint?
Does it change the colour of the paint?
The grit itself is clear, so it is the texture that changes rather than the colour. A textured surface does scatter light differently from a smooth one, so expect the finish to look slightly less glossy.
Will it settle in the tin while I work?
Will it settle in the tin while I work?
Yes, grit settles. Stir it back through regularly as you go, or the last part of the floor will have noticeably less grip than the first.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
That depends on the paint you mix it into rather than on the grit. Check the paint is rated for the surface and exposure first - the industrial floor paints in this range are not suitable for external slabs without a waterproof membrane.
