Yes. One face gives a non-slip surface for pedestrians, the other an anti-skid traction surface for vehicles and plant - flip it over to change which face is up.

No - the manufacturer advises against steel tracked vehicles on composite mats. Tracks can damage the mat and its connectors, and any resulting damage is the responsibility of the customer.
