Frequently asked questions

What is a fire alarm sign for?

It marks the location of a fire alarm call point or pull station so people can find and operate it quickly in an emergency.

What sizes does it come in?

Three sizes are available: 150mm x 200mm, 200mm x 300mm and 300mm x 400mm, so you can match the sign to the viewing distance.

Which material should I pick for an exterior wall?

Self-adhesive vinyl, foam PVC and vinyl composite are all suitable outdoors. Rigid PVC and the photoluminescent option are best used undercover or checked against the site's weather exposure.

How do I fit the sign?

Self-adhesive backing gives a fast fit on a smooth, clean surface. Drill-hole fixing uses four 5mm holes for a permanent panel. Channel fixing, horizontal or vertical, is for mounting on posts, barriers or gates.

Does the photoluminescent version need a power supply?

No. It absorbs ambient light during the day and glows if the lighting fails, with no wiring or batteries needed.

Can I mount this on a car park barrier or gate?

Yes. Order the vinyl composite option with vertical channel fixing for a horizontal barrier arm, or horizontal channel fixing for a vertical post.

Does this sign meet UK fire safety regulations?

Yes, it conforms with current UK and EU legislation for fire safety signage.
