Frequently asked questions

How do I know which size to order?

The sign comes in three sizes - 150mm x 200mm, 200mm x 300mm and 300mm x 400mm. Pick the size that matches the wall or door panel you're fixing it to; a larger size suits a bigger room or a greater viewing distance.

Which material should I choose?

Self-adhesive vinyl, rigid PVC and foam PVC are lightweight, general-purpose options for most walls. Vinyl composite is fully waterproof for exposed exterior spots, and photoluminescent PVC glows in the dark if you need the sign to stay visible during a power cut.

How do I fix the sign in place?

Choose self-adhesive backing for a flat, clean surface, drill holes for a screw fixing, or a horizontal or vertical channel fixing if the sign is going onto a post, barrier or gate rather than a wall.

Is this sign suitable for outdoor use?

Self-adhesive vinyl, rigid PVC, foam PVC and vinyl composite are all suitable for both indoor and outdoor fixing, with vinyl composite fully waterproof for exposed spots.

What does the photoluminescent option do?

The photoluminescent PVC charges under ambient light and glows in the dark, so the sign stays visible if the lighting fails or during a power cut - useful for fire escape and equipment signage.

Do I need a fire extinguisher location sign?

Yes. Marking the location of fire fighting equipment clearly helps people find it quickly in an emergency, and is standard practice across offices, warehouses, hotels and other commercial buildings.

Can I order extra signs at the same time for other equipment?

Yes - the Fire Equipment Safety Signs range covers hose reels, alarms, extinguishers for different fire classes and other equipment, all in the same sizes, materials and fixings, so you can order a matching set in one go.
