Frequently asked questions

What does the downward arrow mean on this sign?

It shows that the fire fighting equipment, such as an extinguisher or hose reel, is mounted below or directly beneath the sign.

Which material should I choose?

Self-adhesive vinyl suits smooth, clean surfaces. Rigid PVC and foam PVC are lightweight general-purpose options. Photoluminescent PVC charges under ambient light and stays visible in a power cut. Vinyl composite is a durable, waterproof choice for exposed spots.

Can I fix this sign to a car park barrier or post?

Yes. The horizontal and vertical channel fixings are designed for mounting to posts and barriers, with rivets that sit flush with the sign face.

What sizes are available?

300mm x 100mm or 450mm x 150mm. Choose the size to suit the viewing distance and the space available on the wall or post.

Is this sign suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. All five material options are suitable for indoor and outdoor fixing, though a clean, non-porous surface is needed for the self-adhesive vinyl option.

Do you have a matching upward or sideways arrow version?

Fire fighting equipment signs are available with different arrow directions across the range - contact us for the version matching the direction you need.

Does this sign meet UK and EU requirements?

Yes, it conforms with current UK and EU signage legislation for fire fighting equipment identification.
