Frequently asked questions
What does this sign tell people to do?
What does this sign tell people to do?
It instructs anyone nearby to open the relevant valve if a fire breaks out, so the action needed at that point is clear without any training or extra wording.
Where would I fix this sign?
Where would I fix this sign?
Directly at or next to the valve it refers to, so there's no doubt which valve the instruction applies to.
What sizes are available?
What sizes are available?
100mm x 100mm for a compact fixing close to the valve, or 200mm x 200mm where the sign needs to be read from further away.
Which material holds up best outdoors?
Which material holds up best outdoors?
Foam PVC, vinyl composite and self-adhesive vinyl are all suited to exterior fixing; rigid PVC and the photoluminescent option are better indoors or under cover.
How does the sign attach?
How does the sign attach?
Self-adhesive vinyl sticks straight to a flat surface. The other materials are supplied with drill holes, and the 200mm vinyl composite also comes with a horizontal or vertical channel for posts, barriers or gates.
Why choose the photoluminescent version?
Why choose the photoluminescent version?
It absorbs ambient light through the day and continues to glow if the lighting fails, so the valve instruction stays visible in the dark.
Do I need to add any text to the sign?
Do I need to add any text to the sign?
No. The Open valve in event of fire wording is already printed on the panel and ready to fix as soon as it arrives.
