Give Way to Oncoming Traffic quick-fit sign face - diagram 615
Where roadworks narrow the carriageway to a single lane, the diagram 615 roundel tells drivers on one side to give way to oncoming vehicles. It always works as a pair with the Priority Over Oncoming Traffic sign, diagram 811, facing the other direction. The 750mm face is printed on Class 1 RA1 prismatic sheeting over a 3mm plastic backing, conforms to Chapter 8 and The Red Book, and is made in the UK. It is supplied as the face only - quick-fit frames are sold separately.
Key features
-
Diagram 615 roundel - red border with red and black arrows, controlling priority through a narrowing.
-
RA1 reflective - Class 1 engineering grade prismatic sheeting for lower-speed roads such as urban streets and local routes.
-
750mm diameter - the standard size, on a 3mm plastic backing.
-
300mm hole centres - toggles onto mini quick-fit frames, sold separately.
-
No scrap value - non-metallic construction gives thieves no reason to lift it.
-
Made in the UK - to Chapter 8 and The Red Book requirements.
Where it is used
- Roadworks that narrow a two-way road to one lane
- Two-way traffic sharing a single open lane
- Street works and utility excavations on urban roads
- Lower-speed roads where RA1 reflectivity is specified
Pairing with diagram 811
Diagram 615 never stands alone. Drivers at one end of the narrowing see this Give Way roundel; drivers at the other end see the Priority Over Oncoming Traffic sign, diagram 811, so both directions know who has right of way. Supplementary plates - 615.1 and 811.1 - can sit below each sign where the layout calls for them. For placement, follow government guidance on temporary traffic signing.
