Why it works

Why the big tin

Sized for the actual job

Four times the 5 litre tin, so a warehouse floor is one purchase rather than a stack of small tins.

One batch across the floor

Coating a large area from a single tin avoids the shade banding you can get between separate batches.

Single pack, quick dry

Nothing to mix and no pot life to race, so a floor can be coated and back in use without a long shutdown.

Abrasion, impact and chemical resistance

Rated against solvents, salt and water as well as wear, which is what separates an industrial coating from a garage floor paint.
Overview

The tin for a whole floor

Buying floor paint in five litre tins to coat a warehouse is an expensive way to do it, and it introduces a second problem: batch variation between tins can show as banding across a large area. The 20 litre tin deals with both. It is the same grey coating as the 5 litre, single pack and quick drying, resisting abrasion, impact, solvents, salt and water, in the quantity that actually matches the job.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same paint as the 5 litre tin?

Yes, the same grey industrial floor paint in a larger tin. The 5 litre suits patching and small areas, the 20 litre suits coating a floor.

Can I use it outside?

Only where there is a waterproof membrane under the slab. Without one, moisture rises through the concrete and lifts the paint, which shows as blistering and then flaking.

Do I need to prime first?

On bare, porous or dusty concrete, yes. The prime and seal primer in this range soaks in and binds the surface so the top coat has something solid to key into. On a sound previously painted floor you may not need it.

How do I apply it?

Brush or roller. It is single pack, so there is nothing to mix and no pot life to work to.

How much floor will 20 litres cover?

That depends heavily on the surface - bare concrete absorbs far more than a sealed or previously painted floor. Work out your area, and on a large floor order enough to finish in one go rather than risking a second batch showing as a shade difference.

What colour options are there in 20 litres?

Grey is the size we stock in 20 litres. The other colours in the range come in 5 litre tins, so a scheme is usually grey in bulk with the marking colours bought in fives.
