Overview
The colour for zoning a floor
There is a limit to how many things a floor can say at once. Yellow and red are already spoken for by hazard and prohibition, and green means the safe route, which leaves blue as the colour for everything operational: goods in, staging, quarantine, work in progress, finished stock awaiting collection. Coating a zone rather than taping it out means the marking survives pallet trucks and cleaning, and can be relied on for stock control as well as movement.

Only where there is a waterproof membrane under the slab. Without one, moisture comes up through the concrete and lifts the paint, which shows as blistering and then flaking. If you are unsure what is under your slab, find out before you buy.

That depends heavily on the surface. A sealed, previously painted floor takes far less than bare or porous concrete, which can absorb the first coat almost entirely. For a job of any size, work out your area and order a spare tin rather than stopping halfway.

Yes. It needs to be clean, dry, sound and free of oil, grease, dust and any loose or flaking previous coating. Floor paint fails at the bond far more often than it fails in the film.
