Why choose this wheel

Simple push-fit installation

The expanding adaptor tightens as the bolt is screwed in, so no drilling or welding is needed to fit it inside 25mm square tube.

Wheel and swivel lock together

The integral brake lever locks both the wheel rotation and the swivel action, holding the trolley or frame steady during use.

Zinc-plated steel bracket

The bracket is zinc-plated for corrosion resistance, backed by a grey rubber-tyred wheel that rolls quietly on hard floors.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between this and the unbraked Light Duty Wheel?

This version has the same single swivel wheel and 25mm tube fitting as SKU 170036, but adds an integral brake lever that locks both the wheel and the swivel when engaged.

Does the brake lock the swivel as well as the wheel?

Yes, engaging the lever locks the wheel rotation and the swivel action together, so the trolley stays put in one position.

What tube size does it fit?

It is designed to fit inside 25mm square tube via the expanding adaptor on the stem.

Do I need any tools to fit it?

A screwdriver or Allen key to tighten the expanding bolt is all that's needed; no drilling or welding.

Is it the same wheel as the twin-wheel Light Duty Castor?

No. The twin-wheel castor (SKU 170035) bolts on via an M8 threaded fitting and has no brake; this is a single swivel wheel with a brake, fitted via the expanding tube adaptor.

How many would I need for a trolley?

Most four-legged trolleys and frames use four wheels; braked wheels are commonly fitted to at least two corners so the unit can be locked without needing all four braked.
