Frequently asked questions
How is this different from the "Keep clear - exit for emergency escape route" sign?
How is this different from the "Keep clear - exit for emergency escape route" sign?
This sign carries the shorter "Keep clear / Fire exit" wording rather than the emergency escape route text. Both are mandatory instructions in the same three sizes and five materials, so the choice comes down to which wording matches your door.

What is the benefit of the photoluminescent material option?
It charges in ambient light and glows in sudden darkness, which is useful on a fire exit door if the lighting fails during an evacuation.
What does "mandatory" mean on a sign like this?
What does "mandatory" mean on a sign like this?
It is a positive instruction sign - blue circle, white symbol - rather than a warning or prohibition sign. It tells people what they must do, in this case keep the fire exit clear.
How do I mount it to a car park barrier or gate?
How do I mount it to a car park barrier or gate?
Choose the vinyl composite material with horizontal or vertical channel fixing. The channel keeps the rivets flush with the sign face when mounting to a bar or post.
Is this sign compliant with UK regulations?
Is this sign compliant with UK regulations?
Yes, it conforms with current UK and EU signage legislation for mandatory safety signs.
What is the difference between drill-fix and channel-fix?
What is the difference between drill-fix and channel-fix?
Drill-fix uses four holes to screw the sign to a flat surface. Channel-fix runs the sign through a horizontal or vertical channel so it clips flush to a post, bar or barrier - it is only available on the vinyl composite material.
