Why it works

Clear direction, five materials to choose from

Reads at a distance

Bold Exit wording, green and white safe condition colours and a down-right arrow read clearly from across a room or stairwell.

Multiple fixing options

Choose self-adhesive, drill-hole, horizontal channel or vertical channel fixing to suit the mounting surface.

Points along the route

The running-man pictogram with a down-right arrow shows the route continues down and to the right, such as down a stairwell or through an angled doorway.

Photoluminescent option

Charges under ambient light and stays visible if the power fails, suited to directional escape signage.

Interior and exterior use

Foam PVC and vinyl composite options are durable enough for exterior use as well as interior fitting.
Overview

Exit Down Right Arrow Sign - Overview

The Exit Down Right Arrow Sign is a safe condition sign that marks a fire exit route heading down and to the right, pairing the word "Exit" with the running-man pictogram and a diagonal down-right arrow. It suits hotels, warehouses, apartment blocks, kitchens and laboratories wherever a route needs pointing out down a stairwell or through an angled doorway.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from a standard Fire Exit sign?

The pictogram, colours and arrow style are the same - only the wording changes. This sign says "Exit" rather than "Fire Exit", combined with a diagonal arrow pointing down and to the right.

Which size do I need?

300mm x 100mm works for a doorway viewed up close, 450mm x 150mm suits a corridor or stairwell, and 600mm x 200mm is better for larger spaces or where the sign needs to be read from further away.

How is the sign fixed in place?

It depends on the material: self-adhesive vinyl uses a hi-tack backing, rigid and foam PVC options can be drilled with 4 x 5mm holes, and channel fixings are available for mounting on posts or bars.

Will it still be visible if the lights go out?

Only the photoluminescent PVC version. It stores ambient light and glows in the dark once the power supply fails, which is why it is specified on fire escape routes.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

Rigid PVC, foam PVC and vinyl composite are all rated for exterior use. Self-adhesive vinyl also works outside provided the surface is smooth, clean and non-porous.

What does the down-right arrow tell people?

It indicates the exit route changes direction, continuing down and to the right - for example down a flight of stairs or through a doorway set at an angle to the corridor.

How do I choose between the five materials?

Self-adhesive vinyl suits flat, smooth walls; rigid or foam PVC covers most general interior and exterior mounting; vinyl composite is the most weather-resistant; and photoluminescent PVC adds visibility in a power cut.
