Foam PVC and vinyl composite options hold up outdoors as well as indoors.
Overview

Running Man Downwards Arrow Sign - Overview

The Running Man Downwards Arrow Sign is a safe condition sign showing the standard green and white running-man pictogram alongside a downward-pointing arrow, marking a fire exit route that continues down, such as towards a stairwell or a lower floor. It suits hotels, warehouses, office corridors, commercial kitchens and laboratories wherever an escape route needs marking downwards.

Frequently asked questions

What size do I need?

The sign comes in three sizes - 200mm x 150mm, 300mm x 200mm and 400mm x 300mm - so choose based on how far away people need to read it from; larger spaces call for the 400mm x 300mm option.

What's the difference between the five materials?

Self-adhesive vinyl sticks straight to a clean, smooth surface; rigid and foam PVC are lightweight boards for walls; vinyl composite is the toughest option for wet or outdoor areas; photoluminescent PVC stores light and glows if the power goes out.

How is the sign fixed to the wall?

Most materials fix with 4 x 5mm drill holes or a self-adhesive backing. Vinyl composite also comes in horizontal-channel and vertical-channel versions for mounting to posts, gates or barriers.

Will the photoluminescent version still work if the power fails?

Yes. It absorbs ambient light while the room is lit and releases it as a visible glow the moment the lights go out, so the exit route stays marked.

Is this sign suitable for outdoor use?

Foam PVC, rigid PVC and vinyl composite are all rated for exterior conditions. Self-adhesive vinyl also works outdoors once fixed to a smooth, non-porous surface.

What does the downward arrow tell people?

It marks a fire exit route continuing down, most often used above a stairwell or where the escape path drops to a lower level, rather than continuing straight ahead.

Do you stock the other arrow directions too?

Yes - straight-ahead, up, left and right versions are all part of the same Safe Condition range, so a full escape route can be signed with matching pictograms throughout.
