Frequently asked questions

Does the Silaos bin come with liner bags?

No. It is sized to take standard 50-litre bin liner bags, which are not supplied.

What is the difference between the base plate and concrete-in fixing?

Base plates bolt the bin down onto a hard surface such as paving or tarmac, while the concrete-in option sets the support legs directly into wet concrete for a permanent fixture. Choose whichever suits your ground conditions.

Can I add the ashtray option after ordering?

The integrated ashtray is a variant selected at the time of order, so choose it upfront if you need it rather than trying to retrofit it later.

What is the difference between the light oak and mahogany finishes?

Both are the same PEFC-certified French oak cladding, just stained a different colour - a lighter honey tone for light oak, a darker red-brown tone for mahogany.

Is the frame available in colours other than the four listed?

The standard range covers Dark Grey, Light Grey, Black and Corten Effect, but custom RAL colours can be arranged on request - contact us with the RAL code you need.

Do I need to do anything extra if the bin is near the coast?

If the site is within five miles of the coast, we recommend an additional weather treatment (galvanising) for the steel frame, available on request, to cope with salt-laden air.

Does the Silaos bin match other Procity street furniture?

Yes. The Dark Grey frame option is finished in Procity Grey, matching benches and other pieces from the same Procity range for a coordinated look.
