Frequently asked questions

Are these barriers Chapter 8 compliant?

Yes. The red and white reflective meets BS EN 12899-1, Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual and the TSRGD, so they can be used on public highways and street works as well as private sites.

How do the panels connect together?

Each panel links to the next with the Melba D-hinge and two D-clips per join, so a run goes together in seconds without any tools.

What sizes and kits are available?

Panels come in 750mm or 1 metre widths, and each kit is supplied as a 3 gate or 4 gate configuration. Pick the width to suit the gap and the gate count to suit the run length.

How much does a kit weigh?

A 750mm kit is 8.1kg (3 gate) or 10.8kg (4 gate), and a 1 metre kit is 10.8kg (3 gate) or 14.4kg (4 gate), so every kit is a comfortable single-person lift.

Can I use them to guard an open manhole?

Yes. Guarding open manholes and exposed drops is one of the main uses, alongside general utility, construction and highways works.

Can I add branding or change the colour?

Yes. Barriers can be embossed from 150 single pieces and colour changed from 500 single pieces, so you can add a company name, logo or colour scheme. Ask about trade-account pricing.

Are they compatible with other barriers?

The kit is designed to be compatible with existing barriers on the market and stacks with itself in every orientation for compact storage.
