HEAVY DUTY FLOW PLATES

Manufactured with precision using heavy gauge 10mm thick Durbar/Chequer Plate, the Heavy Duty Flow Plate is engineered to facilitate seamless vehicular traffic management

Ideal for a spectrum of vehicles including HGVs and cars, this product integrates a reduced flap height for enhanced functionality

Its robust design, fortified with a high-quality OilLite bush hinge system, ensures durability and longevity even under heavy vehicle usage

To ensure optimal safety and functionality, it is strongly advised to complement the HGV Flow Plates with warning signage and speed ramps

Pedestrian usage is discouraged without appropriate warnings and signage, and users are urged to exercise caution to prevent accidents or entrapment

POSITIONING

Proper positioning and installation are crucial for maximising the lifespan and efficacy of the Flow Plates

Installation instructions are provided for both tarmac and concrete surfaces

Additionally, guidelines for positioning, such as avoiding inclines and gravel roads, are emphasised to prevent damage and ensure optimal performance

Note: All Flow Plates should be set out as shown in
the diagram away from an area of turning

We recommend a staggered installation layout rather than a straight line. Staggering the plates distributes vehicle loading more effectively, reducing wear and tear, especially for heavier vehicles. Proper layout helps maintain performance and extends the lifespan of your plates. To maximise the life of your Flow Plates, vehicles should drive over the product in a straight line as demonstrated in diagram above. Vehicles turning on the Flow Plates can cause excessive discomfort to the passengers and will also damage the Flow Plates, springs, fixings and can affect the position on the surface.

INSTALLATION

Our flow plates can be installed on both tarmac and concrete surfaces - For tarmac surface fitting, rubber expanding bolts are recommended, Concrete surface fitting requires the laying of a concrete raft to provide a stable foundation for the flow plates
If you require Lock Down for temporary use please contact us

Tarmac Surface Fitting Instructions:

  1. Preparation: Ensure the asphalt surface is older than 6 months and has a crust of asphalt depth of 50mm or greater. For newly laid tarmac, a concrete raft should be laid with concrete fixings used
  2. Placement: Set out all flow plates on the tarmac in the desired position
  3. Drilling: Mark out holes for all plates on the tarmac surface. Remove all plates and drill holes to the full depth (100mm). Do not fit any plates until all surface holes are drilled out
  4. Fixing: Fit the rubber fixing to the underside of each plate using the steel bolt, tightening by hand
  5. Installation: Lay all plates over the holes and gently tap them to slot the rubber fixings into place using a mallet or similar tool
  6. Final Fixing: Once all plates are in position, tighten them with an impact driver or socket. Avoid over-tightening the fixings

Important Notes:

  • The rubber plugs and fixing bolts should be fitted to the product prior to being dropped into location to save time
  • Ensure plates are aligned correctly using a string line

Tools and Equipment Required:

  1. Robust drill capable of handling a 24mm masonry drill bit
  2. 24mm masonry drill bit
  3. 19mm spanner or impact driver with a 19mm socket
  4. String line to ensure plates are aligned correctly

Concrete Surface Fitting Instructions:
Where tarmac surface conditions are inadequate, it's recommended to lay a concrete raft for the flow plates to be installed onto
