SHARKS TEETH RAMP - MID SECTION
Enhance the efficiency and safety of your traffic management system with our HGV Flow Plates
Crafted for durability and versatility, these modular plates offer a seamless solution for directing vehicular flow in various settings
Designed with precision engineering and user safety in mind, our Flow Plates provide reliable performance for a wide range of vehicles, from cars to HGVS
Please note this listing is for the mid section only - end caps are sold separately on our website
POSITIONING
To maximise longevity and efficiency, proper positioning of Sharks Teeth Ramps are crucial
Driving over the product in a straight line minimises discomfort for passengers and reduces the risk of damage to the ramps, springs, and fixings
Additionally, positioning the ramps away from junctions prevents vehicle stalling during acceleration
For optimal performance, install Sharks Teeth Ramps on a level surface rather than an incline or slope - avoid fitting them on gravel roads to prevent damage to the ramps and their mechanisms, thus extending their lifespan
Note: All Flow Plates should be set out as shown in
the diagram away from an area of turning
INSTALLATION
Our flow plates can be installed on both tarmac and concrete surfaces - For tarmac surface fitting, rubber expanding bolts are recommended, Concrete surface fitting requires the laying of a concrete raft to provide a stable foundation for the flow plates
Tarmac Surface Fitting Instructions:
- Preparation: Ensure the asphalt surface is older than 6 months and has a crust of asphalt depth of 50mm or greater. For newly laid tarmac, a concrete raft should be laid with concrete fixings used
- Placement: Set out all flow plates on the tarmac in the desired position
- Drilling: Mark out holes for all plates on the tarmac surface. Remove all plates and drill holes to the full depth (100mm). Do not fit any plates until all surface holes are drilled out
- Fixing: Fit the rubber fixing to the underside of each plate using the steel bolt, tightening by hand
- Installation: Lay all plates over the holes and gently tap them to slot the rubber fixings into place using a mallet or similar tool
- Final Fixing: Once all plates are in position, tighten them with an impact driver or socket. Avoid over-tightening the fixings
Important Notes:
- The rubber plugs and fixing bolts should be fitted to the product prior to being dropped into location to save time
- Ensure plates are aligned correctly using a string line
Tools and Equipment Required:
- Robust drill capable of handling a 24mm masonry drill bit
- 24mm masonry drill bit
- 19mm spanner or impact driver with a 19mm socket
- String line to ensure plates are aligned correctly
Concrete Surface Fitting Instructions:
Where tarmac surface conditions are inadequate, it's recommended to lay a concrete raft for the flow plates to be installed onto
