The workshop default
Most spray touch-ups fail for one of two reasons: the colour is nearly right, or the surface was not prepared. RAL 9005 deals with the first. It is a specified colour rather than a manufacturer's idea of black, so the patch matches what was there. The second is down to you - clean, dry, free of loose rust and primed if it is bare steel. Do that and an acrylic gloss from a can holds up on a tipper body about as well as anything you would put on with a gun.

Metal, wood, MDF, ceramic and paint-prepared plastics. Whatever the surface, it needs to be clean, dry and free of loose material first, and bare steel should be primed.

Yes, it is rated for interior and exterior use. Spray in dry conditions and give it time to dry before it takes any weather.

That depends on the colour, the surface and how heavily you spray. Porous surfaces such as bare MDF drink far more than primed steel. For a job of any size, buy a can more than you think you need rather than running out part way.
